Bitaxe Supra

Bitaxe monochip de generación anterior (~0,6–0,8 TH/s). Solo merece la pena si es más barato que un Gamma.

Overview

The Bitaxe Supra is a prior-generation single-chip Bitaxe solo miner, built around an earlier Bitmain ASIC that produces roughly 0.6-0.8 TH/s at around 12 watts. It's the same open-source, silent, palm-sized concept as the newer Gamma — a home solo-mining lottery ticket and learning tool — just with an older, less efficient chip. Like all Bitaxe devices, it's fully open-source in hardware and firmware.

The honest positioning is simple: the Supra has been superseded by the Gamma, which offers more hashrate and better efficiency for a similar price. So the Supra really only makes sense if you can find one meaningfully cheaper than a Gamma, or if you specifically want to tinker with that generation of board. Everything else about the experience is the same — you point it at a solo pool, you get a tiny real chance at a full block reward, and the expected value is essentially negligible against today's network.

As with every Bitaxe, the value here isn't financial return; it's the education and the long-shot thrill. Running the open-source AxeOS interface teaches you how hashrate, difficulty, and pool mechanics actually work, quietly and at low power. Buy a Supra only if the price is right relative to a Gamma; otherwise the newer model is the better pick for the same money. Either way, go in understanding it's a lottery ticket, not an income stream.

Bitaxe Supra: Frequently asked questions

Should I buy a Supra or a Gamma?

The Gamma has more hashrate and better efficiency for a similar price, so it's usually the better buy. Choose a Supra only if it's meaningfully cheaper or you want that specific board.

Will it earn money?

No, not realistically. Like all small solo miners, it's a lottery ticket and learning tool with negligible expected value against today's network.

Is it open-source?

Yes. All Bitaxe devices, including the Supra, are fully open-source in hardware and firmware.

Is it quiet enough for a desk?

Yes. Like other Bitaxe units it's near-silent and low-power, fine to run on a desk.
