Bitaxe Gamma Turbo (GT)

Overview

The Bitaxe Gamma Turbo (GT) is a dual-chip variant of the Bitaxe that puts two Bitmain BM1370 ASICs on a single board, roughly doubling the hashrate to around 2.15 TH/s. It's for enthusiasts who want the most hash they can get from a single-board Bitaxe while keeping the open-source hardware and firmware that define the project. If a standard Gamma is a solo-mining lottery ticket, the GT is two tickets in one quieter-than-industrial box.

The trade-off for that extra hashrate is exactly what you'd expect: more power draw and more heat. Two chips mean the Turbo runs warmer and needs better cooling than a single-chip Gamma, so it's a bit less desk-friendly and a bit louder under load, though still nothing like a screaming industrial ASIC. It runs the same open-source AxeOS interface.

Crucially, doubling the hashrate does not meaningfully change the economics. Against a network of hundreds of exahashes per second, going from ~1.2 to ~2.15 TH/s roughly doubles a probability that's still essentially zero — two lottery tickets instead of one. This is still not an investment; it's a hobby, a learning platform, and a long-shot at a full block reward. Buy the Turbo if you specifically want the most hash in a single Bitaxe board and can handle the extra heat and power; otherwise a standard Gamma gives you the same experience more efficiently and quietly.
