If the Umbrel Home is the easy first node, the Pro is for users who want to run a full archival node, host many apps at once, or simply not worry about outgrowing their hardware.
The extra storage is the headline. A standard node fits comfortably on the Home's 2TB, but an archival node (which keeps the entire blockchain history) and a large collection of self-hosted apps benefit from the Pro's much larger capacity. The faster networking and better internals also help when you're running many services simultaneously. It keeps all the beginner-friendly benefits — the app store, Tailscale remote access, and hardware-wallet pairing for trustless verification.
The honest framing: most people running a Bitcoin node simply don't need this much capacity, and the Home does the core job — verifying your own transactions — perfectly well for less money. You're paying the Pro premium for archival storage, more headroom for apps, and faster networking. It carries the same caveat as the Home about UmbrelOS not being fully open-source in the strict sense, so sovereignty maximalists may still prefer Start9.
